“Reimagine Literacy ”
Georgia joined with 47 other states well over a year ago to develop a set of core standards for K-12 in English language arts and mathematics. On June 2, the Common Core State Standards were released. These standards provide a consistent framework to prepare students for success in college and/or the 21st century workplace. These standards represent a common sense next step from the Georgia Performance Standards. The media center will play an integral part with the English Language Arts standards. How do you reimagine literacy with Common Core and the Georgia Performance Standards of Excellence ?
Staff - Collaborate with the media specialist once a month.
Students - Check out two books from the media center at least once or twice a week.
Parents - Volunteer in the media center once a week or month.
